Basketball Recap: North Montgomery Chargin' Chargers vs. Lebanon Tigers
North Montgomery was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 53-44 to the Lebanon Tigers. While losing is never fun, the Chargin' Chargers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 387th, while the Tigers are ranked 107th).
Kelby Harwood and Colin Zachary certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Harwood went 8 of 12 on his way to 19 points along with seven assists and seven rebounds, while Zachary posted ten points.
Lebanon got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Joel Acton out in front who went 6 for 8 en route to 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaden Lark, who had 13 points and seven steals.
North Montgomery's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Lebanon, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.
North Montgomery is taking a road trip to take on West Lafayette at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in West Lafayette's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five games. As for Lebanon, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 71-51 victory against Covington on the 25th.
