Trustin Mitchell was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over four innings pitched. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, West Campus entered their tilt with Foothill on Thursday with six consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with seven. In other batting news, West Campus got a massive performance out of Emmett Scharn, who scored three runs while going 4-for-4. The Warriors are undefeated when Scharn posts two or more runs, but 4-5 otherwise. Xavier Mendoza was another key player, going 3-for-4 with five RBI and two runs.

West Campus kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.5 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 12.

West Campus pushed their record up to 12-5 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.1 runs over those games. As for Fairfield, their loss dropped their record down to 14-5.
