The Mitchell Mustangs are taking a road trip to square off against the Lecanto Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mitchell is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.1 runs per game this season.

On Monday, Mitchell was able to grind out a solid win over Zephyrhills, taking the game 6-1. The victory continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won eight in a row.

Taylor Tucker was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in 13 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Tucker wasn't the only one making solid contact as seven players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was MacKenzie Tucker, who scored a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Mitchell was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. They are a perfect 12-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Meanwhile, Lecanto didn't have quite enough to beat Sunlake on Friday and fell 4-3. The Panthers have struggled against the Seahawks recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Lecanto's defeat dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Mitchell, their record now sits at 16-5.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Mitchell has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.5 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Lecanto struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8.6 strikeouts.
