Soccer Game Preview: Long Beach Poly vs. Cabrillo

The Long Beach Poly Jackrabbits will head out on the road to challenge the Cabrillo Jaguars at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Long Beach Poly will be strutting in after a win while Cabrillo will be coming in after a loss.

Long Beach Poly had to skate by with only a one-goal margin when they last took the pitch, which might have inspired the three-goal drubbing they dealt Compton on Friday. The Jackrabbits' defense stepped up to hand the Tarbabes a 3-0 shutout. The final result isn't all that surprising considering Long Beach Poly's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 314th, while Compton are ranked 976th).

Meanwhile, Cabrillo fell victim to Millikan and their airtight defense on Friday. They came up short against the Rams, falling 3-0. The defeat continues a trend for Cabrillo in their meetings with Millikan: they've now lost three in a row.

Cabrillo's loss dropped their record down to 7-7-1. As for Long Beach Poly, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-6-4 record this season.
