Basketball Game Preview: Wewahitchka Gators vs. Covenant Christian

The Wewahitchka Gators will challenge Covenant Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Wewahitchka is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Franklin County on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Wewahitchka came up short against Franklin County, falling 53-27. The Gators haven't had much luck with the Seahawks recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Payton Suber, who posted nine points. Another player making a difference was Shamiyah Cole, who had six points.

Meanwhile, Covenant Christian scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They took a 50-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of East Hill Christian.

Covenant Christian has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. As for Wewahitchka, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
