Volleyball Recap: Miami East Starts Season with Loss on the Road

Miami East kicked off their season on the road on Saturday and hit a couple of potholes. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Coldwater Cavaliers. The Vikings have struggled against the Cavaliers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-15.

Khalia Lawrence paced Miami East's offense, picking up seven kills. Lawrence got some help from Kylie Gentis and her six assists. Gentis was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Miami East didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Fort Loramie on the 16th. As for Coldwater, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Ottawa-Glandorf on the 16th.
