Basketball Recap: Annabel Waldo's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Chambers/Wheeler Central over St. Mary's

Chambers/Wheeler Central played a tough game on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 51-29 to the St. Mary's Cardinals. The loss continues a trend for the Renegades in their matchups with the Cardinals: they've now lost eight in a row.

Chambers/Wheeler Central lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Annabel Waldo, who posted 13 points and six boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Rose Woeppel, who put up four points and six rebounds.

St. Mary's found their leader in sophomore Pyper Ickes, who almost dropped a double-double with 17 points and nine assists. What's more, Ickes also posted a 67% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's achieved since back in February of 2024. Gracie Williamson was another key player, going 7-for-12 en route to 15 points and eight boards.

Chambers/Wheeler Central's defeat dropped their record down to 11-13. As for St. Mary's, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 16 of their last 17 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 22-2 record this season.

Chambers/Wheeler Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for St. Mary's, they will be playing at home against Santee at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Santee is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.6 points per game this season.
