Lincoln North Star gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 22-1 margin over the Buena Vista Bison. The Navigators haven't had any issues with the Bison recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Matthew Travis looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit.

At the plate, Jayden Johnson and Sam Schaefer did most of the damage at the plate: Johnson went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Schaefer scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3. That's the most runs Johnson has posted since back in March of 2024. Austin Mckillip was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Lincoln North Star always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .675. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Buena Vista only posted an OBP of .263.

Buena Vista's defeat was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-2.
