Softball Recap: Hedgesville Comes Up Short

Hedgesville and Spring Mills squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Hedgesville had to settle for second. They lost 12-0 to the Cardinals. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Cardinals recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Hedgesville's loss dropped their record down to 11-13-1. As for Spring Mills, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season.

Hedgesville will welcome Martinsburg at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.54 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of. Spring Mills does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
