            Baseball Preview: Bear Lake Bears vs. Teton Timberwolves        
        
		
        
        
            The Bear Lake Bears will be taking part in a tournament against the Teton Timberwolves  at 12:15  p.m.  on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with six consecutive losses dating back to last season for Bear Lake and four for Teton.
Bear Lake came into this matchup off a tough 12-run  defeat on Saturday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Preston by a score of  10-8 on Saturday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
 Dawson Beard was cooking despite his team's loss,   scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 2-for-4. That  stolen base was  his first of the season.  Tate Ewing was another key player,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
 Even though they lost, Bear Lake was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .406. That's the best  batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Teton didn't have quite enough to beat Challis on Tuesday and fell  3-2.
 Teton saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Gavin Crow, who  went 1-for-3 with one  RBI.
 Teton's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Bear Lake, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 0-4.
Bear Lake's speedy runners might be the difference in Friday's   matchup. Bear Lake has been swiping bases left and right this season,  having  averaged 2.8  stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Teton, though, as  they've been averaging  only 0.2  stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Bear Lake continue to outrun the ball?
 Bear Lake skirted past Teton  5-4 in their previous meeting  back in April of 2023. Does  Bear Lake have another victory up their sleeve, or will Teton turn the tables on them?  We'll have the answer soon enough.
