Baseball Recap: Cape Hatteras Secondary Victorious

Cape Hatteras Secondary's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Jones Senior Trojans 7-6.

Landen Sonnier was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one triple. Another player making a difference was Wyatt Cannon, who went 1-for-3 with one triple.

Cape Hatteras Secondary is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Jones Senior, they dropped their record down to 4-9 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home.

Cape Hatteras Secondary has already played their next game, a 6-4 victory against Pungo Christian Academy on the 3rd. As for Jones Senior, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Northside - Pinetown at 4:30 p.m. on the 14th.
