Baseball Game Preview: Putnam Valley Tigers vs. Bronxville Broncos

The Putnam Valley Tigers will challenge the Bronxville Broncos at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Putnam Valley will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Putnam Valley's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on The Leffell School with a sharp 9-0 win. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by nine runs or more this season.

Sean Carroll made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

In other pitching news, Eli Pierce looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Louis Peduto, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI and one run. That run was his first of the season. Jake Peterson was another key player, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Bronxville lost 14-4 to Albertus Magnus on Saturday. The game marked the Broncos' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Putnam Valley's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-1. As for Bronxville, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season.
