Football Recap: Mason Towne and Jovan Harper Pace Franklin Defense

The Franklin Wildcats earned a 40-29 win over the Edison Vikings on Friday.

Braylon Robinson was nothing short of spectacular: he threw for 288 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 10.7 yards per attempt. Those 288 passing yards gave him a new career-high. Jovan Harper was Robinson's top target, picking up 110 receiving yards and one TD.

Franklin didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Mason Towne and Harper. Towne is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made five or more in each of the last four games he's played dating back to last season. Julian Riley was another major factor on D, picking up two sacks, making six total tackles, and defending two passes.

When it comes to explaining why Edison lost, don't look at Devin Rasmussen. Despite the final result, he threw for 302 yards and three touchdowns.

Franklin's victory bumped their record up to 2-0.

Looking ahead, Franklin will be playing in front of their home fans against Chavez at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Edison, they are headed away from home for the first time to face off against Clovis West at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
