Preview: East Duplin Panthers vs. Wallace-Rose Hill Bulldogs

The East Duplin Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the Wallace-Rose Hill Bulldogs at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. East Duplin is no doubt hoping to put an end to an eight-game streak of away losses.

East Duplin pushed their score all the way to 56 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were the victim of a rough 79-56 defeat at the hands of South Lenoir.

Despite the loss, East Duplin got a solid performance out of Calvin Harper, who scored 30 points along with six rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Harper has scored all season. Jacorey Davis was another key contributor, scoring four points.

Even though they lost, East Duplin smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. This was only their 13th loss (out of 15 games) when they hit their own glass that hard.

Meanwhile, Wallace-Rose Hill suffered a rough 57-35 defeat at the hands of Kinston on Friday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Wallace-Rose Hill has scored all season.

East Duplin has not been sharp recently as the team has lost 13 of their last 14 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-19 record this season. As for Wallace-Rose Hill, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-11.

Things could have been worse for East Duplin, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 59-44 loss to Wallace-Rose Hill in their previous meeting back in January. Can East Duplin avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
