League recap: Big Bear rises in state rank

Big Bear moved up to 505 from 567 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in De Anza. Big Bear climbed the ranks as a result of besting Brentwood School 42-8.

Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, Yucca Valley beat Rosamond 38-2. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Trojans.

Yucca Valley's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Bradley Soares threw for 96 and 1 touchdown and Logan Vallo had 59 yards receiving. On the ground Vallo contributed 104 yards. Nathan Rantzow helped Yucca Valley's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 34 yards.

Vallo was the best receiver in the league this week as TIM CANNAVO's team defeated the Roadrunners. Vallo racked up 3 receptions for 59 yards. Rantzow helped Yucca Valley's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 34 yards.

On the heels of Soares and Vallo, the Trojans have had great success on offense. Soares leads the league in passing with 576 yards, while Vallo has rushed for 717 yards this season. Twentynine Palms's Talo Wilson leads the league in receiving yards with 267 on 14 catches.

A big matchup in De Anza this week will be when Shadow Hills takes on Yucca Valley. The Knights are currently in third, while the Trojans are in first.

The Wildcats fell to Cathedral City 46-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Jake Culver was a bright spot for Twentynine Palms, as he threw for 73 yards and ran for 22 yards in the loss.
