Somerville scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They took a 77-67 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Iola Bulldogs. The Yeguas were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Iola's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tyler EllioTT, who went 10 of 21 en route to 25 points and four steals. Elliott is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed four or more in the last six games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brody Vaughn, who went 10 of 15 on his way to 23 points and five rebounds.

Somerville is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7. As for Iola, they moved to 5-6 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Somerville didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 65-38 loss against Lago Vista on the 27th. As for Iola, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 72-65 defeat against Centerville on the 27th.
