Preview: University Cougars vs. Lake Howell Silver Hawks
The University Cougars will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Lake Howell Silver Hawks at 7:30 p.m. University is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.
University suffered their biggest loss since November 27, 2023 on Thursday. They suffered a tough 60-35 loss at the hands of Timber Creek. While losing is never fun, University can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 357th, while Timber Creek is ranked 43rd).
Meanwhile, Lake Howell unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 56-55 to Seminole. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
University has been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season. As for Lake Howell, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-9.
University took a serious blow against Lake Howell when the teams last played back in December of 2020, falling 64-26. Thankfully for University, Keegan Brace (who dropped a double-double on 27 points and ten assists) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
