Lena-Winslow extended their winning streak to five on Thursday, bumping them up to 17-2. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against the Pearl City Wolves. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 5-3 on Tuesday.

Koby Kearns spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Lena-Winslow saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ashton Gerber, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

As for Pearl City, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-7. Even worse, they were so close both times: the losses came by an average of only 1.5 runs.

On Pearl City's side, Brycen Voegeli made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Kip Martens was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lena-Winslow will host Winnebago at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Pearl City, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Eastland at 11:00 a.m.
