Elk Mound waltzed into their match on Thursday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 54-51 win over the Mondovi Buffaloes. Given the Mounders' advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 85th, while the Buffaloes are ranked 427th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Elk Mound's victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 20-4. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.9 points over those games. As for Mondovi, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-19.

As of now, neither Elk Mound nor Mondovi have any future games scheduled.
