Basketball Recap: Austin College and Career Academy Comes Up Short

Austin College and Career Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Orr Spartans and fell 66-24. If the Tigers were looking for revenge after losing 74-39 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Damarion Johnson had an outrageously good game for Orr as he went 12 for 17 en route to 28 points and eight steals. Those eight steals gave Johnson a new career-high. Maurkalen Jones was another key player, putting up ten points and three steals.

Austin College and Career Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Orr, their win bumped their record up to 9-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Austin College and Career Academy will challenge Perspectives-IIT/Joslin at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Orr, they and Kennedy will face off at 6:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. Orr is facing Kennedy at the right time seeing as Kennedy is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
