Softball Preview: Wharton Wildcats vs. Alonso Ravens
The Wharton Wildcats will head out to square off against the Alonso Ravens at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Tuesday, Wharton earned a 5-1 win over Chamberlain. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Storm recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.
Alonso hadn't beaten Sickles on the road since February 24, 2018 but that history sure didn't bother them on Thursday. The Ravens put the hurt on the Gryphons with a sharp 12-5 win. The result was nothing new for the Ravens, who have now won four matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Karina Lozada was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off three hits.
