Softball Recap: Gracie Chandler's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Vardaman over Myrtle

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Vardaman can now relate to. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 18-3 to the Myrtle Hawks, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 18-3 on Thursday.

Vardaman saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gracie Chandler, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

This is the second loss in a row for Vardaman and nudges their season record down to 20-12-1. As for Myrtle, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Myrtle beat Vardaman by a score of 8-1 on Friday.
