The Southeast Career Tech Roadrunners will head out on the road to face off against the Chaparral Cowboys at 3:30 a.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Southeast Career Tech has five straight victories, Chaparral has eight straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Southeast Career Tech barely beat Foothill the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Roadrunners put the hurt on the Falcons with a sharp 18-6 win on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Roadrunners, who have now won nine matches by ten runs or more so far this season.

Bea Robinson made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing six innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off six hits. Robinson was even better at the plate, scoring four runs and stealing two bases while going 4-for-5. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2.1 runs per game.
In other batting news, Aysia Suyat was a standout: she got on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Laila Esparza, who scored four runs and stole two bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
Southeast Career Tech always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .615. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Foothill only posted an OBP of .345.
Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Chaparral's offense. They came up short against Desert Oasis on Tuesday, falling 17-0.
Southeast Career Tech pushed their record up to 12-8 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Chaparral, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.
Everything went Southeast Career Tech's way against Chaparral in their previous meeting two weeks ago, as Southeast Career Tech made off with a 22-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Roadrunners since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
