4A Region II District 13 recap September 17, 2013
Denison scaled the state rankings by moving to 439 from 574 this week, the biggest jump in 4A Region II District 13. The Yellowjackets climbed the ranks as a result of beating Liberty 33-16.
Sherman lost to Highland Park 49-7 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Lovejoy's dynamic duo of Dakota Michaels and Justice Luce proved tough for Frisco to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Michaels threw for 292 yards and 2 touchdowns and Luce had 166 yards receiving. Grant Jarvis helped Lovejoy's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 49 yards.
The Leopards' dynamic duo of Michaels and Luce proved to be unstoppable against the Raccoons, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Michaels put up the best numbers through the air as Lovejoy fell to Frisco.
He was 20-29 with 2 interceptions.
Luce was the best receiver in the league this week as Matt Green's team lost to Vance Gibson's team.
Jackson Watts was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 115 yards on 29 carries as Royse City fell to the Raccoons. Alex Ramsey also contributed to the rushing game with 57 yards on the ground.
Lovejoy's Bowman Sells and Luce have formed a dream team this season, leading 4A Region II District 13 in both passing and receiving yards. 6-3 quarterback Sells has thrown for 613 yards this season, while Luce has 16 catches for 383 yards. Ronald Jones from McKinney North leads the league in rushing with 442 yards.
Greenville led the league in scoring this week after putting up 46 points on Greenville.
