Baseball Recap: Monday's Victory Is Scotia-Glenville's Ninth in Last 12 Outings

Scotia-Glenville took a 13-run loss the last time they faced off against South Glens Falls, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Tartans sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 win over the Bulldogs on Monday. For the Tartans, this counts as revenge for the 15-2 victory the Bulldogs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Scotia-Glenville got a great performance from Max Peters as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over 5.1 innings pitched. Peters has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in ten consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Sam Watson and Tyler Gray did most of the damage at the plate: Watson went 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double, while Gray went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Steven Nicklas, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Scotia-Glenville has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for South Glens Falls, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-6.

Scotia-Glenville will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Bulldogs: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
