Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Highlands). They were the clear victors by a 16-6 margin over the Boyle County Rebels on Saturday. The win was nothing new for the Bluebirds as they're now sitting on three straight.
Kaitlyn Dixon made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over five innings while giving up five earned runs off seven hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Highlands got a massive performance out of Cam Markus, who scored four runs and stole four bases while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance also gave Markus a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Payton Brown, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.
