Basketball Recap: Chesterton Academy of Notre Dame's Luck Changes for the Better on Thursday

Chesterton Academy of Notre Dame came into Thursday's match having lost seven straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with a 38-28 win over the Mary Walker Chargers on Thursday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 56-5 back in December of 2024.

Chesterton Academy of Notre Dame was led to victory by Alia Lutzo and Cecelia Wallblom. Lutzo dropped a double-double on 13 points and 19 boards, while Wallblom dropped a double-double on 11 points and 14 rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Wallblom a new career-high in steals (seven). Naomi Hartman was another key player, putting up ten points in addition to eight steals and six boards.

Chesterton Academy of Notre Dame smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Chesterton Academy of Notre Dame's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-9. As for Mary Walker, they dropped their record down to 0-17 with the defeat, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season.
