Basketball Recap: Tempe Buffaloes vs. Coronado Dons
Tempe was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 14th straight defeat. They came up short against the Coronado Dons, falling 49-24. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Buffaloes this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 41-30 back in January.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Coronado to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kailyn Holsey, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 rebounds and nine steals. Holsey has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last ten times she's played. Another player making a difference was Aundrea Rodriguez, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten boards.
Tempe's loss dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Coronado, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-13.
Tempe will face off against Desert Sunrise at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Tempe is facing Desert Sunrise at the right time seeing as Desert Sunrise is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Coronado, they will square off against Eastmark at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Eastmark will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Coronado surely won't give up without a fight.
