Volleyball Game Preview: Lake Norman Charter Knights vs. South Rowan Raiders

The Lake Norman Charter Knights will face off against the South Rowan Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Lake Norman Charter comes in on 23 and South Rowan on three.

Lake Norman Charter is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They put the hurt on Ashe County with a sharp 3-0 victory.

Lake Norman Charter was especially dominant in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-15, 25-16.

West Stanly typically has all the answers at home, but on Saturday South Rowan proved too difficult a challenge. They had just enough and edged out the Colts 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Raiders have posted since September 4th.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was South Rowan who won the one that mattered. The final score came out to 25-23, 19-25, 25-20, 21-25, 15-13.

South Rowan had a senior duo take command as Campbell Withers had 34 digs and three assists and Raegan Shell had 28 assists and nine digs. Those 28 assists set a new season-high mark for Shell.

South Rowan's victory bumped their record up to 22-6. As for Lake Norman Charter, their win bumped their record up to 28-3.

Lake Norman Charter took their victory against South Rowan in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. Do the Knights have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Raiders turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
