Valley Central came out on top against Goshen Central on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run first inning. The Vikings won by a run and slipped past the Gladiators 5-4. This was a revenge game for the Vikings: when they faced off against the Gladiators back in April, they had to take a 6-3 defeat.

Valley Central's victory bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Goshen Central, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 9-3 record.

Looking ahead, Valley Central will head out on the road to take on Warwick at 4:45 p.m. on Friday. The Vikings' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 7.3 runs per game this season. As for Goshen Central, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Burke Catholic at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
