Softball Recap: Space Coast Extends Winning Streak to Five

Space Coast waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. Everything went their way against the Merritt Island Christian Cougars as they made off with a 14-3 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 12-3 back in March.

Cameron Flaskamp was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Abby Minear, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.

Space Coast hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Space Coast pushed their record up to 12-6 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.7 runs over those games. As for Merritt Island Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-8.

Coming up, Space Coast will head out to challenge Satellite at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Merritt Island Christian, they will take on City of Life Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
