Football Recap: Huntsville Skates Past Bryan with Ease

Huntsville got themselves on the board against Bryan on Friday, but Bryan never followed suit. They breezed past the Vikings to the tune of 58-0. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Hornets considering their 13-point performance the matchup before.

Leading Huntsville to victory were Traeshawn Brown and Zarien Adolphe. Brown rushed for 192 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries, while Adolphe rushed for 105 yards and a pair of TDs on only 11 carries. That's the most rushing yards Brown has posted since back in September of 2024.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Huntsville proved: they limited Bryan to a paltry 3.2 yards per carry. While one picked up at least six total tackles, Jailen Baldwin stood above the rest. He picked up a sack, forced one fumble, and made six total tackles. Huntsville didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 11.3.

Huntsville's defense didn't let Cooper Murr., get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for six sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as six different players picked up one apiece. Huntsville received some extra help from Trae Scott, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

The win got Huntsville back to even at 1-1. As for Bryan, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Huntsville will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Cedar Park at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Bryan, they will hit the road for the first time this season to take on Brenham at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
