Recap: Corner Canyon Chargers vs. Herriman Mustangs

The Corner Canyon Chargers came tearing into Tuesday's game with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.5 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 56-45 win over Herriman. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Corner Canyon also won the last time the pair played back in January.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Corner Canyon to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brody Kozlowski, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds. Kozlowski has been hot recently, having posted 17 or more points the last three times he's played. Isaac Neibaur was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.

Herriman's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Malcolm Johnson, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Stockton Blanchard, who scored 14 points.

Herriman struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Corner Canyon pulled down 16 offensive rebounds.

Corner Canyon's win was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-7. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.1 points per game. As for Herriman, their defeat ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 15-5.

Corner Canyon will take on Copper Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Corner Canyon's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five games. As for Herriman, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Riverton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Utah (Riverton is ranked 14th, while Herriman is ranked tenth).
