Basketball Game Preview: Oakhaven Hawks vs. Soulsville Revolution

Two dominant guards in Amari Spates and JAKEEL TRUSS are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Oakhaven Hawks will host the Soulsville Revolution at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Oakhaven has given up an average of 57.3 points per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week.

Oakhaven is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Hillcrest just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Wednesday. They took a 59-45 bruising from the Vikings.

Meanwhile, Soulsville made easy work of Varsity Opponent on Wednesday and carried off a 73-53 win. The Revolution have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten games by 20 points or more this season.

Oakhaven better keep an eye on TRUSS. He was instrumental in Soulsville's win, shooting 64% from the field en route to 33 points and seven rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which TRUSS has scored at least a third of Soulsville's points. NICHOLAS WILLIAMS JR was another key player, putting up 15 points in addition to three steals and three blocks.

Soulsville has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-10 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.0 points over those games. Oakhaven's defeat dropped their record down to 13-10.

Oakhaven strolled past Soulsville in their previous matchup back in November of 2016 by a score of 60-42. Does Oakhaven have another victory up their sleeve, or will Soulsville turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
