Basketball Game Preview: Fullerton Warriors vs. Lutheran-Northeast Eagles

Fullerton hasn't had much luck against Lutheran-Northeast recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Fullerton Warriors will be playing in front of their home fans against the Lutheran-Northeast Eagles at 7:30 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Fullerton is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Elba 72-5 on Tuesday. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 41-1.

Meanwhile, Lutheran-Northeast's game on Tuesday was all tied up 23-23 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They walked away with a 51-38 victory over Laurel-Concord-Coleridge.

Lutheran-Northeast's win came from a few key players Fullerton will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Gavin Feddern, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine boards. D'Artagnan Taylor was another key player, going 5 for 6 on his way to 14 points and six rebounds.

Fullerton is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.9 points per game. As for Lutheran-Northeast, their win bumped their record up to 9-7.

Things could have been worse for Fullerton, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 54-35 loss to Lutheran-Northeast in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Thankfully for Fullerton, Josh Rojas (who made all 7 shots he took racking up 17 points and six steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
