Bagley extended their losing streak to eight on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 0-8 in the process. They lost 15-5 to the Mahnomen/Waubun Thunderbirds. Surprisingly, this marked the Flyers' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Treyton Broden was cooking despite his team's loss, earning two runs and two stolen bases. Those runs were his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kamryn Thompson, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

As for Mahnomen/Waubun, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-4. The result was nothing new for the Thunderbirds, who have now won three matches by ten runs or more so far this season.

On Mahnomen/Waubun's side, the team relied heavily on Zach Zima, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four stolen bases and four runs. Zima is becoming a predictor of the Thunderbirds' success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 5-2 (and 1-2 when he doesn't). Owen Drinkwine was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.

Coming up, Bagley will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Walker-Hackensack-Akeley at 4:30 p.m. As for Mahnomen/Waubun, they will venture away from home to face off against Norman County East/Ulen-Hitterdal at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
