Baseball Recap: Kennesaw Mountain Wins Going Away Against East Paulding

Kennesaw Mountain barely beat East Paulding the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Mustangs blew past the Raiders 14-1 on Tuesday. Considering the Mustangs have won 12 contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Kennesaw Mountain let Isander Poventud and Jake Phelps run wild. Poventud scored four runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3, while Phelps got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs and four RBI. Those four RBI gave Phelps a new career-high. Beau Lindic was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Kennesaw Mountain hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are 8-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.

The victory made it two in a row for Kennesaw Mountain and bumps their season record up to 17-11. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for East Paulding, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 16-13.
