Basketball Recap: Friday's Loss Ends Mount Airy Christian Academy's Winning Streak

It was a good run, but Mount Airy Christian Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They received a blow as they fell 59-43 to the Greater Grace Christian Academy Eagles. Mount Airy Christian Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Greater Grace Christian Academy apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Mount Airy Christian Academy lost, don't look at Joey Stanton. Despite the final result, he posted 21 points and three blocks. Stanton's evening made it seven games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Elijah Brewer was another key player, putting up six points and five boards.

Mount Airy Christian Academy's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-4. As for Greater Grace Christian Academy, they pushed their record up to 9-3 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Covenant Life the next time they take the court. Greater Grace Christian Academy will head out to face Covenant Life at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday, while Mount Airy Christian Academy will host them at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
