Softball Game Preview: Bergen Tech Knights vs. Westampton Tech Panthers

The Bergen Tech Knights will head out on the road to challenge the Westampton Tech Panthers at 4:15 a.m. on Monday. Bergen Tech is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.

DePaul Catholic hit Bergen Tech with a six-run sixth inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Knights lost 10-2 to the Spartans.

Bergen Tech saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mia Eliopoulos, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run.

Meanwhile, Westampton Tech fell victim to Holy Cross and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lancers. Having soared to a lofty 23 runs in the game before, the Panthers' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

With the defeat, Westampton Tech broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-5. As for Bergen Tech, their loss dropped their record down to 8-8.

Bergen Tech couldn't quite finish off Westampton Tech when the teams last played back in May of 2024 and fell 11-9. Can the Knights avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
