Softball Recap: Algonac Muskrats vs. Richmond Blue Devils

Algonac fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Richmond on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Blue Devils by a score of 5-4. The Muskrats haven't had much luck with the Blue Devils recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Jaycee Reams put in work while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over eight innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off 14 hits. Reams was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one triple. That triple marked the first that she hit this season.

In other batting news, Kayla Raines made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. That home run was her first of the season.

Algonac's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Richmond, the win was the sixth in a row (dating back to last season) for them, bringing their record up to 2-0.
