            Football Recap: Jefferson Democrats vs. Firebaugh Falcons        
        
		
        
        
            Jefferson lost to Firebaugh  back in September of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Democrats blew past the Falcons 40-19. The  game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached  27-6.
 A big part of Jefferson's  win came down to the chemistry between  Joey Manning and his top target  Roshaun Brown. Manning threw for 119 yards and a pair of  touchdowns while  Brown picked up 87 receiving yards and one  score. Brown also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making three total tackles and defending one pass.  Nelsean Farmer got in on the action as well, returning a kick for a touchdown.
The  victory made it two in a row for Jefferson and  bumps their season record up to 3-2. Those  wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 29  points in those games. As for Firebaugh,  they are  on  a  four-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 1-4.
 Both  squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jefferson will welcome Marshall  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. The Barristers' defense has only allowed 9.4  points per game  this season, so the Democrats' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Firebaugh, they will have a little extra prep time after the  loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Compton Early College at 7:00  p.m.  on October 3.
