Softball Game Preview: West Valley Rams vs. Wenatchee Panthers

The West Valley Rams will take on the Wenatchee Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

West Valley made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Moses Lake, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Rams fell just short of the Mavericks by a score of 9-7 on Friday. The Rams haven't had much luck with the Mavericks recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Wenatchee). They put the hurt on Davis with a sharp 23-2 win on Thursday. Considering the Panthers have won seven matchups by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Autumn Sutherland was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. Makinley Cardona was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Wenatchee always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .565. The last time their OBP was this high was back in May of 2024.

The victory (which was Wenatchee's third in a row) raised their record to 10-8. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for West Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-8.

Everything went West Valley's way against Wenatchee in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, as West Valley made off with a 21-8 victory. Do the Rams have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
