Volleyball Recap: Doherty Takes a Loss

Doherty was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Palmer Ridge Bears. The Spartans were not able to make up for their loss to the Bears from their previous meeting back in September of 2021.

Brenna Moerman paced Doherty's offense, picking up 16 kills. Moerman got some help from Makari Cooper and her 12 assists. Moerman was also a major player on defense: she and she shared the team lead in blocks, finishing with two each.

Doherty's defeat dropped their record down to 7-14. As for Palmer Ridge, they moved to 5-16 with that victory, which also ended their three-match losing streak.

Doherty will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Coronado at 9:45 a.m. As for Palmer Ridge, they will be taking part in a tournament against Longmont at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday.
