Baseball Recap: Mitchell Has No Trouble Against White River Valley

Mitchell won the last time they faced White River Valley and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Bluejackets blew past the Wolverines 9-2.

The team relied heavily on Conner Teague, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Dason Kerr, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Mitchell's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-5. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for White River Valley, they are on a 21-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mitchell will welcome Perry Central at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Bluejackets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Commodores have averaged an impressive 7.3 runs per game this season. As for White River Valley, they will be playing at home against Bloomfield at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
