Football Recap: Gainesville Takes a Loss

Gainesville and Baker County squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Gainesville had to settle for second. They received a blow as they fell 26-12 to the Wildcats. The defeat leaves the Hurricanes still looking for their first win of the season.

Samuriah Ruise went supernova For Baker County., rushing for 146 yards and one TD while picking up 8.1 yards per carry, and also throwing for 132 yards and three touchdowns. Those 146 rushing yards gave Ruise a new career-high.

Gainesville's loss dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Baker County, their win bumped their record up to 3-9.

Gainesville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Baker County, they will square off against Clay at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Blue Devils will roll in looking for their 11th straight victory, something the Wildcats surely won't give up without a fight.
