Taylor took a seven-run defeat the last time they faced off against Gateway College Preparatory, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Ducks won by a run and slipped past the Gators 8-7. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Ducks as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Triston Vega was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Mason Sunvison was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Taylor's win bumped their record up to 4-15-1. As for Gateway College Preparatory, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-12.

Taylor will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Gators: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
