Basketball Game Preview: Bellevue Wolverines vs. Rainier Beach Vikings

Bellevue hasn't had much luck against Rainier Beach recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Bellevue Wolverines will venture away from home to challenge the Rainier Beach Vikings at 6:30 p.m. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Bellevue sitting on ten straight victories and Rainier Beach on 18.

Bellevue is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Washington's top teams: Seattle Prep, who was ranked 20th at the time (Bellevue was ranked fourth). Bellevue walked away with a 64-53 win over Seattle Prep on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Rainier Beach got the win against Liberty on Thursday by a conclusive 75-54. The Vikings have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 games by 21 points or more this season.

Rainier Beach's victory was their 11th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 23-2. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 94.7 points over those games. As for Bellevue, their win bumped their record up to 21-4.

Bellevue took a serious blow against Rainier Beach in their previous meeting back in March of 2017, falling 69-38. Can Bellevue avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
