Football Recap: New Madrid County Central Comes Up Short

New Madrid County Central fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Kennett on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 40-32 to the Indians. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Indians apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

New Madrid County Central's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Kennett, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. New Madrid County Central will venture away from home to square off against Malden at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles will be up against the Green Wave's rather soft defense (which has allowed 54 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Kennett, they will challenge Dexter at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bearcats' defense has only allowed 14.3 points per game this season, so the Indians' offense will have their work cut out for them.
