Recap: Seymour Wildcats vs. Woodland Regional Hawks
The Seymour Wildcats lost against the Woodland Regional Hawks back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Seymour took a 46-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of Woodland Regional. Seymour has not had much luck with Woodland Regional recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
When it comes to explaining why Seymour lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jillian Keough. Despite the final result, she scored 12 points along with nine assists and five rebounds. Isabella Melissano was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five rebounds.
Seymour's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-5. As for Woodland Regional, they pushed their record up to 7-4 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home.
Seymour will take on Torrington at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Connecticut (Torrington is ranked 49th, while Seymour is ranked 54th). As for Woodland Regional, they will head out on the road to face off against Holy Cross at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Holy Cross will be coming into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.
