Basketball Recap: Isabella Lee's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Franklin over Eastwood

Franklin suffered their closest defeat since November 16, 2023 on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Eastwood Troopers by a score of 38-36. The Cougars have struggled against the Troopers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Franklin lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Isabella Lee, who posted 12 points and seven rebounds. Allison De La O was another key player, putting up 15 points.

Eastwood's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Itzel Caro, who put up ten points in addition to six boards and three steals. Another player making a difference was Ineysiah Johnson, who went 5 for 9 on her way to 10 points and seven rebounds.

Franklin's loss dropped their record down to 18-9. As for Eastwood, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 21-6.

Franklin didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 54-30 win against Socorro on the 24th. As for Eastwood, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 56-46 defeat against Pebble Hills on the 24th.
